Centre of mass(com): the evenly distributed point of the mass of an object. *we do not have perfect centre of the mass -but mostly evenly distributed + includes independent of gravitational force. Centre of gravity(cog): point where gravity is acting on. Line of gravity(log): the center of mass to the ground (acting to the point of the body) It is perpendicular to the ground through the cog. Base of support: every point of contact between person and the supporting surface. Change through the supportive device -requires inclusion of the device (weight is widely distributed) Stability limit: area a person can move the line of gravity within the base of support. In balance= when line of gravity is within base of support. In equilibrium: moments & forces acting on body is zero. Stable: after perturbation, body can return to the original position.
