The suffering motivated people to rally around the atlantic charter as a formula for global regeneration. In the immediate aftermath, the east and west collaborated to bring the atlantic. World war ii did not emerge in a vacuum. In many ways, it was the exclamation point delivered to a preceding decade of crisis.
