Family in the beginning we get tension between witch and a vampire, but what we have in the end is a household with 3 of each species, forming a new kind of family that has been working its way throughout the novel as they have been getting to know each other, the fear dissipates hard to read this without thinking about our real human history of course, humans are seen as a big threat, as a threat to these 3 minorities see a coming together, instead of a covenant that keeps them separate, they form a conventicle(?) often presented in comedic terms, like all families they don"t always get along, but have a sense of interpersonal loyalty seen in the way the witches treat diana, she has othered" herself: that family doesn"t matter, because she has othered herself final level is anagogical.
