To ensure the individual"s survival and development: personality and sense of self. Personality does not develop without socialization when you are young. Ex: at birth, all babies are the same. Their cultural influences will soon differ among them as they get older. Carried in backpacks from mothers, facing outwards from mother. Because child cannot move, sense of sight becomes primary sense of the world. Inuit child will develop an acute spatial awareness over time.
