Marginalization of muslim communities has intensified the boundaries of who belongs in. Police reports from 2012-2015 show that hate crimes against muslims have tripled. 50% of canadians say they have a problem with islam. Bill-c24 revoke the citizenship of a person who is convicted of terrorist acts oversees: the liberals stopped the creation of this bill as the constitutionality of it was questioned. Bill-c51 increased csis surveillance: there was lots of critic around this bill, the liberals did not stop the creation of it, but they are trying to amend it, the core ideas will still be there. Anti-terrorism legislation uses existing laws to carry out the national security hidden agenda. Thursday, september 20, 2018: tightened security at the airport, security certificate deport non-citizens without access to evidence against them. Changes have been met with protest from many human rights organizations.
