People are retreating from in-person social life because they are now communicating only in their homes. Mobile: traveling alongside one another but not communicating (e. g. walking home from work, in separate cars etc. Stationary: waiting at a bus stop, in line etc. Temporal: performing a function together, in class together etc. Manifest: at a concert, sporting event, on a train, plane etc.
