If you commit 3 crimes, then you are incarcerated for a long period of time. Classical criminologists would like this because this is a certain punishment but they would not like it. Thursday january 2015 because it is not proportionate. Focus only on the actus reus (the judge should only focus on the act itself not the environment or the individual). Classical school would have been against it because it is not proportionate. Also they do not want people to die because there were a lot of jobs and they needed people to fill those jobs. It is also contrary to the social contract because in that contract people do not give up the right to live. Also they want to move away from barbaric actions. Right to speedy public trial and to present evidence. Classification of offenders (murder criminals separated from theft criminals for example). Too rigid, does not take into consideration circumstances.
