Allergies: required previous exposure, involves an immune response and produce memory cells. Hay fever: reaction to pollen, immune system generates a hyper reaction because of developed memory cells of the pollen. Cold-like system: involves the innate immune system. Geographic tongue: tissue has changed appearance. Atopic dermatitis: exposure on the surface of the body, type of rash. Dermatitis from irritants: common with industrial powders, dose matters. Immune reactions: develop blisters with poison ivy, urushiol chemical in poison ivy and poison oak. Nickel: common allergen, added to metals to make them stronger, can get a rash if in contact with skin, can coat metals to protect. Dust allergies: skin cells are the dust, dust mites eat the dust, the feces of the dust mites creates the allergy. Pets: usually to the saliva of the animal, saliva containts proteins that produce allergies. Mold and fungi: produce noxious substances and proteins that produce allergies. Sunlight: allergic to chemical substance that is activated by light.
