Hyper-proliferative lesion malignant: completely out of control/aggressive growth, takes the resources from the body and diverts it to the cancer. This is the affect that kills you: irregularly shaped. Accounts for nearly one-quarter of deaths in the united states, exceeded only by heart disease: in 2001, there were 553,768 deaths in the usa caused by cancer. Treatments are unpleasant: you can die from the treatment. Over 75% of all cases occur after age 55. Causes 570,000 deaths per year in north. Men get cancer a lot more than women do: related to lifestyle rather than a biochemical process. Cancer in children is extremely rare (but it does happen: pay attention to it because it is unusual at that age. If you live long enough, eventually you are going to get it.
