This is where we see identification psychological process where children look, act and feel like significant people: development of gender idnetity/constancy: social rules how someone should behave. In a short-time span, children act in a certain way they give their gender away. During in preschool time they learn gender roles! (these stereotypes are all beliefs). By 3, children think gender can be altered. Segregated play boys play with boys; girls play with girls (girls develop this faster). Boys style of play is more to aggressive, dominating and forceful, which might be too aggressive for girls. Girls interaction with on another are more supportive with each other and the boys reject girl opinions. Girls are more likely to play with boy toys and boy are less likely to play with girl toys. Gender sharpens the contrast of their own gender with other gender.
