Perform a task = make a competent decision with regards to medical care. This makes sense on paper but each of these factors can be questioned. Generally, by 18 we are considered mature but there are people over 18 who are not and people under 18 who are. Respecting choice of someone who is able to express a preference. Choice must be reasonable what a reasonable person would do.
