HLSC 2465U Lecture Notes - Lecture 7: Microvillus, Muscular Layer, Acinus
Document Summary
Difference of thick and thin skin: thick 5 layers, thin 4 layers. Papillary (loct) and reticular (dict) (layers of the dermis) Thick: keratin, more layers, bottom layer: stratum basale, stratum spinosum, stratum granulosum (last nucleated area, thick stratum lucidum & stratum corneum. Dermis: papillary layer links with epidermal ridges, reticular. Hair follicle: hair bulb/root (bottom, some go down into the subcutaneous layer, sebaceous gland (sebum) makes it oily, arrector pili (smooth muscle) makes hair stand on, no hair follicles on thick skin and no pigment. The lip: outer part is stratified squamous keratinized, bottom is non keratinized, red free margin lots of blood vessels. The cheek: some glands keeps it moist, skeletal muscle, stratified squamous not keratinized. Mucosa: epithelium, lamina propria, loct, blood vessels. Hlsc 2465: mucularis mucosa (muscle of the mucosa) tiny band of smooth muscle. Submucosa: loct, glands, blood vessels, nerves. Stomach secretory simple columnar and special mucous cells.
