SCMA*2040 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Marginalia, Zotero, Apa Style
Document Summary
Don"t re-invent the wheel: use library databases, based on what other reserachers believe is the most important topic. Not just about the topic/primary source materials: we are looking for peer review academic books. May not just be the name of the topic: out in topic in the database, key words that will search the term, there might be a bias, need to think about the relevant topic around your topic. Zotero: tool to show your bibliographic researchers, acces to kanopy through guelph. Entering the conversation: key premise in academic writing is that it is a conversation in which you are correcting, revising or pointing out the gaps in someone else"s opinion. Checklist for lit review: what is already known, what concept/theories are relevant, what research methods/strategies have already been employed, any significant controversies/debate, any inconsistencies/issues with the findings, any unanswered research questions.
