In the oedipal complex, boys desire their mother but fear their father"s retaliation (castration anxiety) Boys must identify with their father and renounce their mother"s love. This is a key ingredient, the boy will gain their right and wrong from their father. In the electra complex, girls must try to identify with their mother and renounce their father"s love. Girls are less successful than boys, therefore their superego is underdeveloped, thus concluding males are more moral than girls.
