Biopsychosocial model of disease the idea that the causes and effects of disease are a combination of biological, psychological, and social factors. Health problems are not just the consequence of viruses and how our immune system reacts, but also a combination of how our cognition works and our social support. Burnout characterized by exhaustion, lack of enthusiasm and motivation, feelings of ineffectiveness, and also may have the dimension of frustration or cynicism, and as a result reduced efficacy within the workplace. Primary appraisal whether an event is threatening, challenging, or can be ignored. Threatening and challenging events will trigger the sympathetic system.
