Emotion: an immediate, specific negative or positive response to environmental events or internal thoughts. Moods: diffuse, long-lasting emotional states that do not have an identifiable object or trigger. Feelings: the subject experience of the emotion: e(cid:454). (cid:862)i feel s(cid:272)ared(cid:863) (cid:862)i feel disgusted(cid:863) Bodily arousal (the physiological component: stimulus -> thalamus -> amygdala -> experience of fear. Takes shorter amount of time: stimulus -> thalamus -> cortex -> amygdala -> experience of fear or experience of relief. But you get to think about what the stimulus is: fight or flight. A subjective conscious experience (the cognitive component: emotion is a highly personal, subjective experience, how (cid:455)ou des(cid:272)ri(cid:271)e what (cid:455)ou"re feeling, depends on cognitive appraisals/what you are thinking, what you are thinking influences what you feel, ex. Your body feels that it is scared however the interpretation is different, like a roller-coaster vs a plane falling.
