Breaking boundaries: class discussion on the documentary status quo . The documentary status quo was equally emotional and informative on issues of the modern woman, the development of feminism in canada, and the movements that have arisen since then. Perfect blend of ethos, logos, and pathos. It was able to include personal and emotional accounts, without sacrificing any informative content. Interviewed women who witnessed or took part in the feminist milestones of the past as a retrospective that speaks both to how far we"ve come and how far we have yet to go. Covering topics ranging from domestic abuse, to the missing and murdered aboriginal women, to reproductive justice, status quo emphasized the power relations these issues are coloured by. Power relations between men and women extend from the government, through all levels of society and into the home. Cannot be overlooked as they dictate the extents to which women have had to go to protect themselves.
