Think of something specific that you want to answer with survey data or statistics: getting to a research question. Research questions: statement of purpose of your study in the form of a question. Good research questions are narrow(er) in focus. Do not have an obvious or easy answer: general research topic for this term (with uw ethics approval) Homophily: people you hang out with tend to have more similarities with you. More attracted to people more like you. Ongoing socialization - as you spend more time with eachother, you will become more alike. Examples of (narrower) possible sub-themes for term projects. Similar/dissimilar health behaviours among your social network. Similar/dissimilar political values among your social network. Similar/dissimilar educational attainments among your social network. Dissimilar attitudes towards the criminal justice system among your social network: research orientation. Due at midnight on friday, february 8th (week 5) Can be completed individually, or in teams of 2 or 3.
