Document Summary
Learning comes from behaviourists (believe that we become who we are through environmental interactions) Surroundings get us to do all sorts of things. Sometimes things that don"t make sense are linked-dint go together (non-intuitive) Classical conditioning: link two things together and they happen at the same time, we start to expect that the two are together. (ex: opening drawer is associated with food for a dog) Observational learning: learning by watching and then imitating. Ivan pavlov: father of classical conditioning, founded it by accident. Measure how much saliva a dog produces, gives them food to make them salivate. Discovered that dogs salivate before giving them the food or before they smell the food. Dogs form an association between apparatus and the meat powder. Wonders if he can make it happen again: designed experiment with new dogs and a bell, and meat powder. After repeated pairings, dogs only needed bell to salivate (no food needed)
