There are going to be factors that put people at risk to particular types of victimization. Social settings that contribute to a high risk of victimization (drugs and alcohol) Spending a lot of nights in public places. Some people are more likely to be repeatedly victimized. If you are previously victimized, you are likely to be victimized again. If we can understand why some people are victimized we can gure out how to prevent offending based on this. Crime will not occur unless there is a motivated offender, a suitable target and ineffective guardianship of that target.
