What’s the difference between international and global studies?
International studies are the interactions within states, power of countries. Global studies are the
studies beyond states. International studies excluded NGOs, multinational corporations, but in this
globalized world, that is not just states, if not the majority of the states don’t have much influence.
The global sphere: there’s a tangible side (big multinational corporations and states
interacting)
Ideas are competing, very competitive realm
Ex. Jamaica is not influential while organizations such as Doctors without Borders have a
higher influence.
What is governance and government?
Government is a recognized political authority that provides a certain degree of services for a
particular jurisdiction
