Young janis: overweight, tormented/bullied, acne-scarred & a lover of the blues. 1960: janis graduates from thomas jefferson high school. 1960-1963: in and out of colleges & universities: joined the bohemian group, but left after getting bullied. 1963: janis hitchhikes to san francisco: lived changed dramatically. The problem with no name : eleanor roosevelt, jfk & the presidential commission on the status of women, e. r. "s death, nov. 7, 1962 & the commission"s findings. 1961, appointed by jfk to improve the quality of women in the states.
