Thucydydes wrote years after the events happened but he still seems to be perceptive about what has happened while being factual. There was the peloponnesus war which he thought was a very big war. During the trojan war, all the greeks were fighting and when they finally came back, they caused many revolutions and factions. The big disruption was in 1200 bc but it didn"t just hit the mycenaean"s but it definitely hit them. At the mycenaean centres, there was general destruction where the main cities got burned down. Athens was built over afterwards so it"s not 100% sure whether the mycenaean"s even lived there because there were no remains. So a few centres did not get burned. All the centres following the destruction started a decline in the economy. The destruction also went elsewhere by the sea peoples. The sea peoples were raiders who would travel around and sack cities.
