Document Summary

Fda bans antibacterial soaps because they are a way of increasing a number of organisms that have a resistance to these soaps, and they are ineffective against viruses because viruses do not have cell walls. It is the study of microbes (living things that are too small to see through the naked eye). We want to cover how they interact with humans, food, and how they can be used by humans. Even without humans, microbes are very interesting and important concerning the environment. Microorganism = a tiny living thing = not viruses because a virus is not living. Microbe = a tiny thing = a general term that also includes virus. First we have to talk about the history of microbiology. Robert hooke was the scientist who first described organisms that were too small to be seen by the naked eye. He looked at the surface of leather and saw the fruiting bodies from molds.
