Both animals and plants can be domesicated through selecive breeding. All humans have the same genome, but diferent genotypes are present in each individual. Phenotype is a measureable, observable trait, an expression of the unseen genotype of an organism. Peas can reproduce through self-ferilizaion and cross-ferilizaion. In cross-ferilizaion, the local anthers must be removed, to ensure ferilizaion with the outside individual"s pollen. Each seed in indian corn is an individual embryo, and they all developed at once (like fraternal twins) Hybridizaion - maing of parents with antagonisic traits (we cross the plants that produce yellow and green peas, not the yellow and green peas) Mendel did not understand how this was happening in the natural world to create all the individual species, he only understood how it happened with selecive breeding.
