Stomach represents a major chemical barrier at a low ph which keeps the pathogens in line. The numbers are large and outnumber us 100:1, they do not like oxygen. Large intestine contains the bulk of normal microbes. When the bacteria breaks though the cell and stat attaching to the cell surface they will cause problems, they can burrow into the cell. A lot of the nutrients are di usible though the layer. Once there is a leaking in the layer they will get nutrients form the cells and start to colonize. The microbes are making vitamins ( secondary metabolites ) ** not on the exam - aggregated lymphoid modules - found in the lowest portion of the. Peyers patches small intestine the ileum this they di erentiate the ileum from the jejunum ( the upper small intestine) this is will produce antibodies that will help.
