Document Summary

3. 5 key terms and concepts: acculturation, capitalism, consumerism, enculturation, humanistic business model, localization, mercantilism, moral agency, universal values. The textbook provides the following definition of moral agency, the self-awareness, freedom, and ability to make choices based on one"s perception of right and wrong (byars, 2019, p. 155). There is definitely a lot of meaning embedded in these few words. It is worth spending a few minutes thinking it through a little more carefully as it helps us understand the significance of this topic. Let"s start with the term self-awareness. as noted in the introductory comments, one aspect of self- awareness is the ability to pay attention to what we think and reflect on why we think it. Think about what we are thinking in order to develop a deeper understanding of our own thought processes is called metacognition, and it is one of the key factors that sets human beings apart from other natural beings.
