Citizenship is related because when one is excluded they cant realize the rights and privileges that are awarded to them. Ex: homeless, cant vote, no drivers license (aren"t awarded all the rights) Homeless youth- more than 50% of youth have mental health problems , at least 40% are lgbt, primary reason that they are homeless is because of rejection from their family. Youth who are housed - more likely to be involved in a crime as offender. Often victimized by landlords, sexual predators, ect 1997 study found that the illegal activity have to do with their circumstances rather than their upbringing. External locus of control: not their fault and more likely to engage in crime. Internal locus of control: their fault, less likely to engage in crime.
