Document Summary

Two views: newton considered light to be a steam of particles. Aspects of light we are sensitive to: amplitude measured from the midpoint to the top of the wave. Light is reflected from an object into an image of the object that is transformed into electrical signals. Eye must collect the light and focus it by bending it and flipping the whole image upside down. Once the image is flipped on the back of the eye the eye signals the brain that the light is there. Involves a process called transduction light is put into electrical form. Early sign is seeing halos or rainbows around things. Corneal transplants can be done to fix this (taken from another person: astigmatism: born with cornea not the right shape (should be round) results in losing the ability to focus some kinds of light but not others. Outside of the cornea can be carved to fix astigmatism.
