Outside the retina you see mylen on the axons. Retinal ganglion parvo (find detail and colour), magno (motion) Optic nerve is the fibres from the retinal ganglion. Both eyes get information from the left and right visual field. Left visual field ends up on right side of brain, right visual field ends up on the left side of the brain. Temporal (towards temple) side goes straight back, left in left, right in right. Where the left and right optic nerves cross. Nasal side crosses to the other side: suprachiasmatic nucleus (scn) It is on top of the chiasm, first structure that does visual processing. Related to your circadian rhythm (daily body rhythms; can be related to body temperature).
