Document Summary

Cerebral achromatopsia: colour blindness caused by cortical injury after a life time of experiencing colour, where most colour blindness occurs at birth. He made a hole in a window shade then placed prism 1 which separated the white light from the colour spectrum. He then places a board with holes to only let one colour through, stopping the others. Then places 3 prisms to each light colour to which they did not change therefore he knew they were not mixtures of colour but a solid colour. Chromatic colours: such as blue, green, and red occur when some wavelengths are re ected more than others a process called re ective selection. Selective re ection: the paper absorbs short and medium wavelengths but re ects long wavelengths (red) therefore the paper appears red. Achromatic colours: such as white, grey and black occur when light is re ected equally across the spectrum.
