Us: highest level of homicides in developed countries. New guinea 683 per 100,000 (highest levels documented) Usa: gun related violence and it tends to involve individuals rather than groups. Middle east, africa, eastern europe and parts of south africa: groups attacks in political, ethnic, tribal conflict form. Balinese (indonesian island of bali)- the least violent people in the world. These societies oppose competition and have strong values of togetherness. Men are violent fighters, compete with one another in physical contests and are protective of women. Men father children at a young age and women are expected to stay home and care for them. Fish in open sea- survival depends on being fearless. Men are peaceful and cooperative and do not overprotect their women. Women are not expected to be submissive and men are not expected to be aggressive. Fish in lagoons: plenty of fish therefore no need to fish in open seas and be fearless.
