The operation was moderately successful until 1993 when pakistani and american troops were killed in firefights. They tried to help here but were instead killed because their help was not wanted. So intervention may be a bad idea because it just makes some countries angry. In 1994, 800,000 rwandans were killed in the space of 100 days in a government- inspired killing spree. The united nations withdrew its forces from rwanda.
