Bill 101 (pq, 1977): went further: french is only language for advertising/ education (with exceptions) Rise in oil prices (good for west) Trudeau"s energy policy (later nep) alienates west, seen as subsidizing east. Result: western canada not represented in trudeau caucus/ cabinet. The west wants in greater inclusion in , rather than withdrawal from canada. Totally excluded from federal government"s constitutional agenda.
