Example; sometimes we think to be a good citizen it might mean that you shop at the independent local stores, buying music or clothes or groceries. It is likely that the products will be more expensive rather than affordable walmart ones. Qua citizens want to support local businesses but qua consumers can"t afford it and will go to walmart instead. Qua family member: late to family events, qua professor: always on time for class. Helps us to focus on our role as a citizen. You have to follow the law and loyalty to your nation. How you relate to other people in your social group and not in your social group. Open mindedness, you approach them with an open mind. It is increasingly important to take an active role. Political virtues: capacity to discern and respect rights of others. Recognize you own limits and recognize the rights of others.
