Task 1: establish & maintain planning group that includes program stakeholders. Participation in program planning: issues important to community, results relevant, develop capacity. New skills, once funding runs out they may be able to maintain. When recruiting, consider: expertise in health problem or its causes, diverse perspectives, responsibility & authority. Higher level at organizations in community, ability to make key decisions: influence. People who have the ability to influence: commitment to issue. Someone who is truly committed to improving this problem. Identify what each member"s responsibility is, how decisions are made, different timelines, etc: develop group facilitation skills.
