Identify the musical elements of folk-revival and distinguish them aurally as they operate in a song: discuss the role of the record producer in late-1950s and early-1960s popular music. Identify and describe the musical styles and e ects created by producers. American bandstand and the rise of a youth dance culture. American bandstand had been on the air since 1950-> not particularly well known. Became national hit in 1957 when dick clark took over as emcee. Dress and behaviour codes-> made parents feel comfortable.
