Gathering large part of life: reciprocal and communal social economies. People had to be equal in order to function. Important people had good relationships: localized geographic/environmental knowledge; full subsistence; some environmental management. People would do controlled flash fires to flush things out of forests. People ate very well, high caloric intake and nutrients. People didn"t spend lots of time on technology. Material items were hindrance: migration and expansion; however, world population was stable at 5- 10 million until around 10,000 years ago: ethnic diversity was similar to that of today. Long process, did not happen over night.
