The purposes of this act are to foster the learning, development, health and well-being of children and to enhance their safety. Provides a framework for the regulation, provision and operation of childcare and el programs and services. Licensing scheme, and requirements for funding and resourcing. Supports local planning and implementation of programs and services. Provides information that supports parents to choose and evaluate programs, understanding child development to evaluate and choose. Home child care agency is not employer of person who provides home care services. Provision of temporary care for or supervision of children except when: Is an irregular service for guests, visitors. Care is provided as part of extended day program. Part of recreation (artistic, music, athletic, religious, cultural, linguistic instruction) Not allowed to operate a premises where childcare is provided except under a license. Only operate centre only in premises specified in licence. Child care provided by one provider for 6 children, or 2 providers for 12.
