Document Summary
Python was invented by guido van rossum, and created a scriptable programming language that was a descendent of abc, with the intention of appealing to unix/c hackers. Python became the working title of the project because van rossum was a fan of monty python :) It is not compiled: you may write python commands line by line in an interactive python shell, similar to the unix command line, this is useful for quickly testing syntax, etc. If you have an interpreter on your machine, you can run the script; the script is not tied to the architecture of your machine. This tells the computer where the interpreter for this script is located, and that it should be run by this specified interpreter. Python is white-space sensitive; it does not use braces to denote code blocks, they are denoted by line indentation.
