Laptop computers: mobile and generally light but are also weaker and easier to steal. High performance laptops are just as good as most desktops but they have issues with battery life and cooling. Lighter laptops, like ultra books and netbooks, are easy with longer battery life but at the expense of power and ability they are very small and weak, and typically not sufficient (even for casual users) Ule of thu(cid:373)(cid:271): moore(cid:859)s la(cid:449: predicts that approximately every 2 years, the number of transistors in a cpu will double. Composed of 2 main components: control unit and arithmetic log unit (alu: control unit: responsible for managing the other components of the computer, alu: responsible for calculations and logical comparisons. 3 factors looked at when evaluating the power of cpu: clock speed: Determines how many instructions your cpu can execute each second (measured in ghz) each ghz is one billion steps/second. Most cpus operate between 2-4 ghz per second.
