Discuss the topic of development from an aboriginal point of view. Total canadian first nations: 617 keeps fluctuating. Canadian off-reserve populations: 51% of total in all of. Canada, now there are more first nations living off reserves than living on them. Meaningless unless you try to figure out what is going on in other areas: before people might have picked a reserve by the water, this is where their travel was. A place they are familiar with and maybe they can go back and forth: living off reserve but not going fair away so in other words they are still attached, reserves are relatively large. Implication of the statistics: 318 persons per reserve this is small. If you"re talking about economic issues, how many people would be employable in a community of 300.
