Vision = most studied sensory pathway in psychology. Fresh foods = less extreme flavours: smoking decreases ability to taste things, cant taste anything = ageusia (can detect texture, but not taste) Smell: olfactory system, chemical system, not waves (light/sound, tiny molecules of the object/material are transported up nose. Participants would smell the shirts and see which theyre "attracted" to; gay men were attracted to the shirts of other gay men: touch, meissner"s corpuscle, right underneath skin. Touch, squeeze will be picked dup: merkle"s disc, near surface. Pitch: amplitude: translates into brightness in light, and loudness in sound. Volume: purity: wavelengths match, timbre: purity of sound waves. When you play a note on two different instruments you can get different sounds. Just noticeable difference: the ear, outer ear, pinna: lobe, eardrum: end of the pinna; may burst with loud sound, middle ear, hammer, anvil, stirrup: middle/tiny bones in the ear. Stimulate hammer, anvil and stirrup in domino fashion.
