All the reform acts and bills to happen in the future- factory laws/prison improvement/womens bills etc. People lose harshness or punishments and everyday lives in attempt to be like the gentry and respectable. To be respectable means having a large house in desirable area, a carriage with a horse, a house bible (lineage), and domestic servants.
