Human character is formed from circumstances over which they have no control: we can fix this by fixing the situation over which their circumstances happen by education and social assistance. Make the circumstances better to better the character. He created utopian villages of cooperation- if he looked after the people they would be better and do good things for him also. The industrial revolution was a profound social change, relied on the working peoples insecurities to thrive. Peoples average age was 30 when they died (infant mortality ( which was very high ) skewed these numbers) Peoples well being was higher if they had a more advanced diet (farmers advances) Life was much less secure for most working wage earners. They have no access to land, come to work on the land in the morning and go home at night (landless working poor)
