Egypt: advantageous nile, controls the suez canal, everything connects here, lies in the crucible of the realm. Cairo: realms largest city and leading center for islam, cultural capital of arab world, egypts main city, ports, education, museum etc, overcrowding. Nile: 95% percent lives within 12 miles of the delta or the river, basin irrigation, ancient method of irrigation before dams, dame construction, has some externality effects. Darfur: western province split- arabs and south sudanese, conflict of north with south because north is islamic.
