The sick role: if you"re sick, you"re expected to stay home and play the role of an ill human being. It gives you an allowance to stay home and get better. Risk presents a health role: you have a responsibility to do everything you can to prevent getting sick. Danger is immediate, risk is about the future. Anxiety is the affect of personalizing risk risk is no longer an abstract threat, but an apprehension affecting individuals. Even though it might not happen, it still affects you.
