Democracies try to split, break up and divide political means. Power: ability to achieve goals in a political system, and to have others do as you wish. The principle concept in politics: jorg haider. Strengthen direct democracy, parliamentary power (mps), the president, and the prime minister. Impossible to do this you cannot multiple power in the political system. If you want to strengthen one level, it directly comes from another level. Charismatic: special qualities of the individual: box 2. 5 on charismatic authority, according to weber: followers" belief in supernatural qualities of a charismatic leader. Leadership: group of individuals that lead society: but also individual leadership. May or may not come with power: liberal democracy at odds with certain types of large scale leadership, ex. Governments once primarily concerned with survival and threat of war. Some felt government should only protect citizens, other felt its responsibilities extended to providing benefits.
