3 souls: that soul; we have it though something specific/special to us. Vegetative soul: nutrition, health and growth; human soul can"t lie solely in. Perceptive soul: again, we have it, but we share this with animals so its not. Logical/rational soul: reason in soul that commands (highest) and reason that can be commanded by it; human beings have excellence; excellence and happiness would have to consist in this. Happiness is having all virtues throughout life (can"t be in the moment or one day)=full human flourishing; its the most pleasant, advantageous (best) and beautiful. Pleasant because you take pleasure in being/exercising virtuous (its not good enough for aristotle to act brave but the right way is to take pleasure in the act of being brave). You won"t require some external good to cause you to be this way; its the most complete/independent.
