Students will go to the assigned rooms based on last name. Students will complete one set of cases with dr. mysak or dr. mahmoud. Mysak and mahmoud will switch rooms. (students remain in the same rooms) Students will complete the other set of cases with the other instructor. Students will go to the following rooms for the duration of the seminar: Students are encouraged to bring their class notes from pharm 417, and pharmacokinetics. Mw is 46 year old male (180 cm, 91 kg) who is presented to the emergency department with a seizure episode and decreased level of consciousness. His past medical history is significant for hypertension. His previous medications include ramipril 10 mg daily and amlodipine 5 mg daily. A 2-hour post-load level is reported back at 65 umol/l. Two days following admission and phenytoin loading, a phenytoin level is ordered and reported back at 30 umol/l and serum albumin at 34 g/l.
